Maharani Review – All Episodes Watch Online On Sony Liv
SonyLiv’s highly dramatized political drama ‘Maharani’ is inspired by real events. The series is the dramatic version of Bihar politics when CM Lalu Prasad made her illiterate wife Rabri Devi CM in his place. Maharani Web Series is already streaming on Sony Liv.
The series was created by Subhash Kapoor who had remodeled the story for the purpose of storytelling. However, makers make sure that the series will not fall under any nasty political agenda or controversies.
In the series, Bihar’s CM Bhima Bharti (Sohum Shah) is shot by unknown attackers and becomes extremely wounded. Bhima Bharti nominates his wife Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi) to fill the CM chair to prevent the occupation of CM chair by his in-party rival Naveen Kumar (Amit Sial).
Rani Bharti is initially a novice in politics but soon learns the tactics of Bihar politics while becoming a danger to her own political party in doing so.
It’s clear as noon that the characters Bhima Bharti (Sohum Shah), Naveen Kumar (Amit Sial), and Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi) of the series are correspondingly meant to portray CM Lalu Prasad, Nitish Kumar, and Rabri Devi.
The attention to detail in ‘Maharani’ is brilliant. To appreciate the show’s attention to detail we just have to consider the fact that most actors in the show absolutely nailed the Bihari dialect, while keeping in mind that Bihari dialect is not a child’s play to simulate. The dialogues of the show are also its plus point, which is just the right mix of dramatic and realistic.
Maharani Falls Flat Due To Lack Of Marketing
The show is not all gold though, the writing of the first half of the series is well-paced but drags on in the second half. Some scenes that could have been very impactful were tarnished by bad background score. Luckily, the show’s overall powerful storytelling makes a person overlook its minor glitches.
In the end, Sony Liv is constantly coming up with unique and binge-worthy shows. For instance, Scam 1992 became a sensational hit. However, the marketing campaign of the Sony Liv shows is not effective and they do nothing to make the shows reach the audience at all.
There are chances that Maharani starring Huma Qureshi may fall flat despite being quality content. And one of the key reasons for its failure would be lack of marketing.
