First of all a big applaud for the Shiddat marketing team for making most of the people see the movie. The movie is getting mixed responses from fans as well as critics. However, the bottom line is, the narrative didn’t fit the mindset of the audience.
We surely want to see a good romantic Bollywood drama where the center focuses on nothing but the romance of an odd couple. Well, Shiddat is not the one we are waiting for. Let’s understand the review of Disney+ Hotstar’s Shiddat in bits and pieces.
Shiddat Review Story And Synopsis – Writers Tried To Brought 90s Crazy Romance
Shiddat narrates two parallel stories but focusing on the crazy love story of Jaggi (Sunny Kaushal) and Kartika (Radhika Madan). They met, fall for each other in a typical Bollywood fashion. Also, Sunny Kaushal appeared bottomless in a scene. Kartika agreed to one night stand with Jaggi.
Jaggi confessed that he has sort of ‘Shiddat wala pyaar’ with Kartika to which she denied stating she has her marriage fixed in London. Also, Kartika said if he didn’t over her in 3 months, he should come to London and marry her.
And the boy is crazy, he decided to show the true power of love. The end… you don’t want me to spoil it for you. Do you?
Writers did nothing to fill the void in the script and make it look more relatable. Directors and cinematographers have done their best to make the scenes eye-candy. But that’s it, there’s nothing more to discuss it.
Shiddat Cast And Their Performance – Flat And Caricaturish
It looks like Sunny Kaushal had one job in the movie which is to be over the top. Every time he opens his mouth to speak it looks like he is delivering his lines in a very snob manner. The character Jaggi is very caricaturish.
Similarly, Kartika was also emotionless. Even though Radhika Madan has shown her acting chops before in various movies and shows. It seems like She is not the perfect casting for Kartika. Mohit Raina and Diana Penty did a commendable job with the provided material.
Shiddat Review – Reactions From Fans And Critics
Fans were excited to see Radhika Madan in a never-seen-before look. The theme ‘Romance Drama’ was also captivating as we hadn’t seen an intense romantic story from long ago. Sadly, the response is not overwhelming. Critics are also finding the movie concept over the top and not relatable at all.
