HBO has officially started the casting process for its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, searching for young actors to play Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the new adaptation of J.K. The casting call, confirmed by Variety, is open to children aged 9 to 11 by April 2025, who are residents of the UK and Ireland. The official casting notice reads, “We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting. For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.”
Open Audition For Harry Potter Series
Aspiring young actors looking to play the famous trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione must submit two self-taped videos as part of the audition process. The first video should feature a short poem or story (not Harry Potter-related) no longer than 30 seconds, using the actor’s natural accent. The second video, no more than one minute long, should introduce the applicant, including their date of birth, height, and location, along with a description of a family member, friend, or pet they are close to.
The deadline for submissions is set for October 31, 2024, and filming is scheduled to begin in the UK between 2025 and 2026. A release date for the series has not been announced yet.
