Who Is Doobie Brothers Drummer John Hartman?
John Hartman was a wild spirit drummer and co-founder of The Doobie Brothers.
The old rock veteran’s died at 72, the band paid tribute to the great drummer in grand way.
Hartman was planning to move to Northern California to reunite with the band’s leader, Skip Spence.
John Hartman did several gigs with his bandmate singer/guitarist Tom Johnston before creating the band.
Hartman left the group in 1979 before the release of band’s ninth album 80’s “One Step Closer.”
He returned to the band in 1989 after 10 years and left again in 1992.
Hartman was on hand in 2020 when the Doobies inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The band is currently in the midst of a 50th anniversary tour.
