Marvel Television has officially launched its latest Phase Six entry, Visionquest, moving the premiere up to October 13, 2026. This series serves as the final chapter in what fans call the WandaVision trilogy, following the events of the original 2021 hit and the spinoff Agatha All Along.
The show follows the White Vision version of the character as he hides from the world, attempting to navigate a flood of restored memories that lack emotional context. As he searches for his humanity, he is confronted by ghosts from his past and a new generation of heroes. This guide breaks down the full Visionquest cast, from returning legends to the surprising human personifications of Tony Stark’s artificial intelligence systems.
The Return of the Synthozoid: Paul Bettany and James Spader
At the heart of the series is Paul Bettany, reprising his role as Vision for the sixth time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Following his “death” in Avengers: Infinity War and his spectral resurrection in Westview, Bettany now plays the rebuilt version of the character. This iteration is a blank slate, grappling with logic versus emotion.
The most anticipated return, however, is James Spader as Ultron. Not seen since 2015, Ultron serves as a dark reflection of Vision. Their relationship is often described as a father and son dynamic, though a deeply toxic one. Spader’s distinctive voice and menacing presence provide the primary philosophical conflict for Vision as he decides what kind of being he wants to be.
New Faces: Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff
While Billy Maximoff took center stage in Agatha All Along, Visionquest introduces his twin brother to the modern MCU timeline. Ruaridh Mollica joins the cast as Tommy Maximoff, also known by his superhero alias, Speed.
In this series, Tommy is a mysterious teenager who may be the reincarnated version of Vision’s son. He is joined by Lauren Morias, who plays Lisa Molinari, Tommy’s partner in crime. Their inclusion suggests that the series is a major stepping stone toward a Young Avengers project, reuniting the fragments of the Maximoff family.
The Human Faces of Stark AI Personas
One of the most creative choices in Visionquest is the personification of Tony Stark’s legacy. Rather than just being disembodied voices, several famous AI systems appear in human forms, represented as embedded personas within Vision’s complex programming.
| Actor | Character | Original MCU Role |
|---|---|---|
| James D’Arcy | J.A.R.V.I.S. | Stark’s Butler / Original AI Voice |
| Orla Brady | F.R.I.D.A.Y. | Tony Stark’s second AI assistant |
| Emily Hampshire | E.D.I.T.H. | The glasses based AI from Spider-Man |
| Henry Lewis | D.U.M.-E | Stark’s workshop robotic arm |
| Jonathan Sayer | U | Stark’s workshop robotic arm |
James D’Arcy’s return is particularly significant for fans of the Agent Carter series, as he originally played the flesh and blood Edwin Jarvis before voicing the AI version. Seeing these systems interact with Vision in human form adds a surreal, psychological layer to the story.
Bounty Hunters and Androids: Todd Stashwick and T’Nia Miller
As Vision tries to live a quiet life, he becomes the target of a high stakes hunt. Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, a mercenary and bounty hunter tasked with tracking Vision down. Stashwick, a veteran of Terry Matalas’ previous projects like Star Trek: Picard, brings a gritty, tactical edge to the MCU.
Supporting the mechanical side of the cast is T’Nia Miller, who portrays the cunning android Jocasta. In Marvel comics, Jocasta was created by Ultron to be his bride, often using the brain patterns of Janet van Dyne. In Visionquest, her origins are expected to be tied directly to the rebooted Vision’s journey for self discovery.
