Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for creating grand cinematic canvases where every character, no matter the screen time, leaves a lasting impression. The latest addition to his upcoming epic, Love & War, has sent shockwaves through the industry. Soundous Moufakhir, the actress and entrepreneur who rose to fame through reality television, is officially set to play a pivotal role as the glamorous love interest of Vicky Kaushal.
While the film already boasts a powerhouse trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the inclusion of Soundous adds a fresh layer of intrigue. This is not just a passing cameo: reports indicate that her presence is central to the emotional conflict driving the narrative.
The Breaking News: Soundous Moufakhir Joins the SLB Universe
Speculation regarding the full cast of Love & War has been rampant since the project was announced. On October 12, 2026, reports confirmed that the makers are preparing to unveil the official first look of Soundous Moufakhir later this week. This follows the intense character posters already released for the lead actors.
Soundous began her journey with this project in June 2026, quietly filming sequences that insiders describe as some of her most demanding work to date. Transitioning from high intensity reality shows like The Traitors to a Bhansali set is a massive leap, signaling her arrival as a serious contender in the Bollywood landscape.
Character Details: A Glamorous Love Interest for Vicky Kaushal
In Love & War, Soundous Moufakhir portrays a woman described as glamorous, sophisticated, and deeply connected to Vicky Kaushal’s character. Unlike a standard supporting role, her part is classified as an extended special appearance.
The narrative arc for her character is rumored to be tragic. Sources suggest that Vicky Kaushal’s character and hers are headed toward marriage before a sudden turn of events shifts the trajectory of the story. This tragic element is a hallmark of Bhansali’s storytelling, often used to build the emotional stakes for the primary leads.

Impact on the Plot: The Tension Between Vicky and Alia
One of the most exciting aspects of this casting is how it affects the dynamic between Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. While Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the central figures, the relationship between Vicky and Soundous creates a necessary friction.
Her track is reportedly crucial in building the drama that eventually involves Alia Bhatt’s character. By introducing a serious love interest for Vicky, Bhansali is expected to explore themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the haunting nature of past relationships. The intense sequences filmed between Vicky and Soundous are said to be the catalyst for the film’s second half conflicts.
Production Timeline: Filming Schedules and Locations
Soundous has been extremely busy throughout the latter half of 2026. Beyond her work on the Mumbai sets of Love & War, she has been balancing multiple high profile projects.
- June 2026: Commencement of filming for Love & War.
- August 26, 2026: Soundous shot a special musical number in Hyderabad for Manoj Manchu’s film, David Reddy. This track features music by Ravi Basrur.
- October 2026: Preparation for the first look reveal and promotional cycle for her upcoming film Party Animals.
Soundous Moufakhir: From Reality TV to Bhansali Heroine
Soundous is no stranger to the camera, but Love & War represents a significant milestone. Many fans remember her from her recent stint on The Traitors, where her strategic mind and screen presence made her a fan favorite. Before that, she made her big screen debut in the Sonu Sood starrer Fateh, released in 2025.
Her ability to pivot from the raw, unscripted world of reality TV to the highly stylized, disciplined environment of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film speaks volumes about her versatility. She is also slated to appear in Ravi Chhabriya’s Party Animals, alongside Viraj Ghelani and Alam Khan, further solidifying her presence in the 2027 release calendar.

Love & War Release Date and What to Expect
The road to the theater has been long for this project. Initially slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the film was pushed to March 2026, and finally settled on a definitive worldwide release date of January 21, 2027.
The film is described as a period love story set against the backdrop of war. Leaked images suggest that both Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will be portraying military officers, while Alia Bhatt is rumored to have a glamorous cabaret sequence. The visual language of the film appears sharp and smoky, moving away from the bright palettes of Bhansali’s earlier works like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam toward something more atmospheric and gritty.
The Visual Aesthetic: First Look Posters and Style
The marketing campaign for Love & War has focused on intensity. Vicky Kaushal’s first look, released on September 26, 2026, showed him with a cigarette and lighter, sporting a sharp, unflinching gaze. A second poster featured him in a pool of water with a bouquet of flowers, contrasting beauty with a dark, brooding undertone.
Soundous Moufakhir’s look is expected to follow this aesthetic. Insiders hint at a wardrobe that captures the elegance of a bygone era, likely the 1940s, given the war backdrop. With her background in entrepreneurship and fashion, Soundous is well suited to carry the high fashion demands of a Bhansali production.
As we approach the January 21, 2027 release, the reveal of Soundous’s character will provide the final piece of the puzzle in understanding this complex love triangle (or quadrangle). Stay tuned as the makers prepare to drop her first look this week.
