Is It a Sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood?
Yes, a follow-up. Brad Pitt returns as stuntman Cliff Booth, the role that won him the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
The new story jumps to Los Angeles in 1977, about eight years after the 1969 events of Quentin Tarantino’s film. Cliff now works as a bartender and projectionist. In secret, he is a Hollywood fixer who handles murder, blackmail and extortion for people in trouble.

Why Is David Fincher Directing, Not Tarantino?
Tarantino wrote the script but chose not to direct, citing his self-imposed limit of ten feature films. David Fincher, of Se7en and The Social Network, took the chair. For the backstory, see our piece on David Fincher leaving Netflix.
Is Leonardo DiCaprio Back as Rick Dalton?
Not confirmed. DiCaprio is not in the announced cast, and the makers have said nothing about his return.
Rick is still part of Cliff’s story, though. Early viewers of the opening minutes at AFI Fest reported a joke that Cliff quit stunt work because Rick got too heavy for him to double.
