Always on Call (Norwegian title: Legevakta) premieres on Netflix on 26 November 2026. The seven-episode series is set in a busy emergency room in Oslo, and Netflix calls it its first-ever Nordic medical drama.

What Is Always on Call About?
Sofia is a gifted but impatient surgeon. To save her career, she is sent to work in an overcrowded, understaffed ER.

She fights the chaos at first. Slowly she finds friendship and something like a family among her colleagues, and has to choose between chasing success alone or becoming part of the team.
Always on Call Cast
| Actor | Character |
|---|---|
| Sara Khorami | Sofia, a surgeon |
| Thorbjørn Harr | Anders, a dedicated doctor |
The ensemble also includes Jan Gunnar Røise, Silje Storstein, Nader Khademi, Alfred Ekker Strande, Oddgeir Thune, Ola G. Furuseth, Tora Dietrichson, John Emil Jørgensrud, Zoe Mæland Rodgers and Mohammed Aden Ali. Thorbjørn Harr will be familiar to Vikings fans as Jarl Borg.

Filmed in a Real Former ER
The cast shot on location in Oslo, inside a building that used to be a real emergency room, according to Netflix. That gives the corridors and trauma bays a lived-in feel you can spot in the trailer, released on 5 November.
Who Made It?
Harald Rosenløw-Eeg and Jan Trygve Røyneland created the series and are its main writers. Stian Kristiansen and Liv Karin Dahlstrøm direct. The production company is Klynge.

Should You Watch It?
If you like hospital shows built on long shifts, hard calls and messy colleagues, this is one to add to your list. It is in Norwegian, so plan on subtitles or a dub.
