Kollywood is gearing up for a refreshing take on modern love with the upcoming film Haiku. Directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, this project promises to be a breezy, quirky romantic drama that stands out from the high octane action films currently dominating the industry. The film centers on the unique theme of using poetry to bridge the gap between two hearts, making it one of the most anticipated small budget gems of the year.
Fans of Tamil cinema have been closely following the haiku movie cast and release date updates, especially given the rising popularity of its lead actors. Unlike previous projects that used the same title, such as the initial name for Pasanga 2, this 2026 release is an entirely original narrative focused on contemporary relationships and emotional depth.
Official Haiku Movie Release Date
The wait for this romantic drama is almost over. According to the latest industry reports and theatrical schedules, the Haiku movie release date is 23 October 2026.
This date places the film in a competitive window within the October 2026 Kollywood calendar. The production team chose this slot to capture the festive audience mood. While many big budget films target major holidays, Haiku aims to capture the hearts of young couples and students who prefer character driven storytelling over generic spectacles.

Technical Crew and Production
Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of technicians has worked to give Haiku a polished, aesthetic look. The film is produced with a focus on high production values despite its intimate story.
Director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy has crafted a script that emphasizes dialogue and atmosphere. His vision for a “quirky” love story suggests that the movie will avoid traditional cliches in favor of something more whimsical.
Siddhu Kumar is the official music composer for the project. Known for his ability to create soulful melodies, his contribution is vital for a film that revolves around poetry. The soundtrack is expected to feature lyrics that mirror the haiku style of writing: short, punchy, and deeply evocative.
Plot Overview: A Breezy Love Story
The narrative follows a young man who finds it difficult to express his feelings through conventional means. Instead, he turns to the art of poetry, specifically the haiku format, to communicate with his partner. This unique communication style leads to a series of quirky and heartwarming moments.
The film is not just a simple romance: it explores how modern communication often lacks the depth of traditional art. By using poetry as a central plot device, Yuvaraj Chinnasamy offers a “breezy” cinematic experience that focuses on the small, beautiful details of a relationship rather than grand, unrealistic gestures.
OTT Release and Digital Rights
In the current film landscape, the question of is Haiku movie available on OTT is just as important as the theatrical date. As of 07 October 2026, the official streaming partner has not been publicly announced. However, industry trends suggest that a major platform like Netflix, Disney Plus Hotstar, or Amazon Prime Video will likely bag the rights.
Usually, Tamil films arrive on OTT platforms approximately 28 to 45 days after their theatrical release. Fans can expect Haiku to be available for home viewing by late November or early December 2026. The satellite rights are also under negotiation with major Tamil television networks.
Certification and Theater Expectations
The film has officially received a UA certificate. This means the movie is suitable for a wide range of audiences, though parental guidance is recommended for children under 12. The UA rating is ideal for a romantic drama, as it ensures the film can reach families and young adults alike.
Early buzz from preview screenings suggests that the film has a runtime of approximately 130 minutes. This concise duration is perfect for a drama, ensuring the pacing remains tight and the poetic themes do not become repetitive.
