Khela Hobe is a Hindi political drama featuring Mugdha Godse and late veteran actor Om Puri in prominent roles. However, there is an important title mix-up worth clearing up first: the Khela Hobe starring Mugdha Godse and Om Puri is a 2023 feature film, not a Rocket Reels micro-drama. Rocket Reels announced a separate 2026 project also titled Khela Hobe, starring Vikram Kochhar, Lilliput, Deepshikha Nagpal and Vedita Dutta.
So, if you are looking for the Mugdha Godse and Om Puri version, this article covers the 2023 film.
Khela Hobe Cast
The principal cast of Khela Hobe (2023) includes:
- Mugdha Godse as Shabbo
- Om Puri as Fareek Bhai
- Manoj Joshi as Bachchu Lal
- Rushad Rana as Thakur Virendra Pratap
- Rati Agnihotri as Ruksana
- Sanjay Batra as Girish Gupta
- Sanjay Sonu as Israr Bhai
- Ratan Mayal as a doctor
Mugdha Godse and Om Puri are among the central performers. IMDb identifies Godse’s character as Shabbo and Om Puri’s character as Fareek Bhai.
The film was directed by Sunil C Sinha and produced by Kumari Manju, with the story and dialogues credited to Ravi Kumar.
For Om Puri, Khela Hobe has particular significance because it became his last released film. The actor died in 2017, several years before the film finally reached theatres.
Khela Hobe Story
The story takes place in the fictional small town of Raghav Garh, where local politics becomes increasingly complicated as elections approach.
At the centre of the story is Shabbo, played by Mugdha Godse. Shabbo is a self-made woman who runs a beauty parlour and eventually enters the political contest. Her personal motivations become intertwined with the larger political battle taking place in the town.
A major development occurs when a mentally challenged young woman becomes pregnant. The shocking incident quickly becomes a political issue, with different candidates attempting to use the situation to their advantage.
The election campaign consequently becomes a battle of competing interests. Characters who initially appear concerned about the woman’s situation begin viewing the controversy through the lens of votes, influence and political ambition.
Om Puri plays Fareek Bhai, a veteran political figure who is also involved in the election. Unlike some of the other candidates, his character is portrayed as someone who is reluctant to exploit the incident simply for political gain.
Mugdha Godse previously described the film as a political satire set in a village, explaining that the characters begin taking advantage of events for their own purposes as the story turns into a political drama.
The film therefore combines politics, social issues, election rivalry and human drama, with the central mystery surrounding the pregnant woman driving much of the narrative.
Khela Hobe Episodes
Unlike a Rocket Reels micro-drama, Khela Hobe does not have episodes.
It is a feature-length Hindi film. The theatrical runtime is listed at approximately 1 hour 48 minutes by BookMyShow, while The Times of India lists a runtime of about 2 hours 2 minutes.
Therefore, there is no Season 1 episode list, episode count or individual episode release schedule for the Mugdha Godse and Om Puri version.
Khela Hobe Release Date
Khela Hobe was released in Indian cinemas on February 24, 2023. Multiple entertainment databases and contemporary coverage list February 24 as the theatrical release date.
The film had been in production for several years. Mugdha Godse explained that filming began before the COVID-19 pandemic, with approximately half of the movie completed before the pandemic and the remainder shot afterward.
The delayed release also meant that the film arrived years after Om Puri’s death, ultimately becoming his final released feature.
Where to Watch Khela Hobe
The streaming situation for Khela Hobe (2023) is less straightforward.
Filmibeat currently lists the film’s OTT platform and OTT release date as TBA, while an Amazon Prime Video listing exists but currently states that the title is not available to watch at that time.
There are also full-film uploads on YouTube, but availability and authorization can change, so viewers should rely on official listings rather than assuming that every upload is an authorized streaming source.

Final Words
Khela Hobe starring Mugdha Godse and Om Puri is a 2023 Hindi political drama, not a Rocket Reels series. Mugdha plays Shabbo, while Om Puri appears as Fareek Bhai, with Manoj Joshi, Rati Agnihotri, Rushad Rana and Sanjay Batra among the supporting cast.
The film uses a local election and a disturbing incident involving a pregnant mentally challenged woman as the foundation for a story about political ambition and competing interests. It was released theatrically on February 24, 2023, and does not have episodes because it is a standalone feature film.
If you’re specifically searching for the Rocket Reels Khela Hobe, that is a different 2026 production with Vikram Kochhar, Lilliput, Deepshikha Nagpal and Vedita Dutta.
