Mirzapur: The Movie Story
The film is an interquel: it’s set during the events of the show’s first season, so you get Munna Bhaiya back alongside Kaleen Bhaiya and Guddu Pandit. The story takes Akhandanand “Kaleen Bhaiya” Tripathi out of his comfort zone. A powerful political figure asks him to deliver money for an upcoming election, and the job pulls him far from his Mirzapur stronghold, into the desert, where enemies see a chance to finish him.

Mirzapur: The Movie Cast
| Actor | Character |
|---|---|
| Pankaj Tripathi | Akhandanand “Kaleen Bhaiya” Tripathi |
| Ali Fazal | Guddu Pandit |
| Divyenndu | Munna Tripathi |
| Jitendra Kumar | Key role |
| Ravi Kishan | Key role |

Mirzapur: The Movie Box Office
The gamble of taking a streaming show to cinemas paid off. On a reported budget of ₹80–90 crore, the film opened at about ₹28 crore in India on Day 1 and went on to gross more than ₹335 crore worldwide, with around ₹230 crore net in India per Sacnilk. Critics were largely positive, though many felt the three-hour-plus runtime, especially the desert stretch, dragged.
What’s in the Extended Cut?
Prime Video hasn’t listed every added scene, but the extended version runs roughly 15 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. That will please fans who wanted more time with these characters. Viewers who found the theatrical version too long may prefer to watch it in two sittings.
- Best watch order: since it’s set during Season 1, you can watch it after Season 1 or anytime as a standalone.
- All three seasons of the Mirzapur series are also on Prime Video.
- Season 4 is the next big step for the franchise, and the film’s success makes it even more likely.
