My Handsome Bodyguard is a short-form romance drama built around a familiar but addictive combination: a powerful heiress, a mysterious bodyguard, a dangerous criminal empire, and a former fiancé who refuses to accept rejection. The series blends romance, revenge, mafia drama and forbidden-love elements into a vertical short-drama format designed for quick, bingeable viewing.
Despite often being described online as a Chinese drama, the available platform information is somewhat inconsistent about its production origin. Reeloid describes it as a vertical drama that premiered on its platform in 2025, while other short-drama platforms distribute the same title under their own catalogues. Viewers should therefore check the platform listing before assuming a particular country of production.
My Handsome Bodyguard Story
The story follows Lea, the daughter of a powerful mafia boss. She grows up surrounded by wealth, privilege and influence, but her comfortable life changes dramatically after her father dies in a tragic plane crash.
Following his death, Lea has to take responsibility for the family business and step into a world where power comes with serious danger. At the same time, she is assigned a new bodyguard named Ryan, who has a personal reason for protecting her.

Ryan is not simply there because of a paycheck. According to the available episode synopsis, he was entrusted by Lea’s late father with protecting her. Their relationship therefore begins with tension and resentment rather than instant romance. Lea initially dislikes Ryan and even remembers him from childhood, when her father compared her unfavorably with him.
The situation becomes more complicated when Lea decides to end her engagement with Michael. Michael is humiliated by the breakup and promises revenge, creating another dangerous obstacle for Lea and Ryan.
As the story develops, the professional relationship between Lea and Ryan gradually becomes emotionally complicated. The series uses the classic enemies-to-lovers and protector-romance setup while adding mafia intrigue and revenge to keep the plot moving.
My Handsome Bodyguard Cast
The principal characters listed by Reeloid are Lea, Ryan and Michael, with Elizabeth also appearing as an important supporting character in coverage of the drama. However, the publicly available platform listings do not consistently provide the real names of the actors playing these roles.
Lea
Lea is the central female protagonist. She is introduced as the privileged daughter of a major mafia figure, but her father’s death forces her to become responsible for the family empire. Her character combines independence, stubbornness and vulnerability as she adjusts to her new circumstances.
Ryan
Ryan serves as Lea’s bodyguard and becomes the other central figure in the story. He is portrayed as quiet, disciplined and protective. His connection to Lea’s late father gives his assignment a deeper purpose, while his growing feelings for Lea create the drama’s central romantic conflict.
Michael
Michael begins the story as Lea’s fiancé. After Lea calls off their engagement, he reacts angrily and vows revenge. His actions add a major threat to the developing relationship between Lea and Ryan.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth is a supporting character who works with Lea and acts as a friend and well-wisher. She also attempts to follow the safety instructions left by Lea’s father, making her part of the protective circle around Lea.
How Many Episodes Are in My Handsome Bodyguard?
The episode count varies across platforms. FlexTV lists 50 episodes, while Sereal+ also lists 50. Other catalogues, including MinuteDrama and MicroDrama Radar, currently show 51 episodes.
This difference appears to be a platform/catalogue variation rather than necessarily a completely different story. The drama is presented as a vertical short series, with individual episodes designed to be very short. FlexTV describes episodes as approximately one to two minutes, making the complete series particularly easy to binge.
Early episodes establish Lea’s father’s death, Ryan’s arrival and the tension between the two leads. Later episodes expand the romance and revenge storyline while introducing additional secrets and threats.

Where to Watch My Handsome Bodyguard
The drama has appeared across several short-drama platforms.
Reeloid is particularly notable because it announced the show’s premiere on its platform and describes My Handsome Bodyguard as available globally in English. Its announcement states that the series was released as a vertical drama optimized for smartphones.
FlexTV also has the title in its catalogue and lists 50 episodes, with subtitles available in multiple languages. Its official episode listing provides access to the short episodes and describes the series through tags including mafia, revenge and romance.
ReelShort also carries individual episodes of My Handsome Bodyguard, including episodes 2, 6, 27 and others.
Other catalogues currently list the title on StardustTV and Sereal+, although availability and episode counts can differ by service and region.
Final Thoughts
My Handsome Bodyguard combines several ingredients popular in modern short dramas: wealth, mafia power, revenge, forbidden romance and the protective-bodyguard trope. Lea’s transformation from a privileged heiress into someone responsible for her family’s empire provides the story’s larger conflict, while her complicated relationship with Ryan supplies its romantic core.
With episodes running only a few minutes, the series is structured around quick developments and cliffhangers rather than the slower pacing of a traditional television Chinese drama. Viewers looking for a fast romantic thriller with plenty of relationship drama can follow the series across the short-drama platforms currently carrying it.
