For over two decades, the Koffee couch has been the epicenter of Bollywood gossip, career defining confessions, and the infamous Rapid Fire round. However, all good things must come to a conclusion. Karan Johar has officially announced that Koffee With Karan Season 9 will be the final chapter of this iconic series.
Starting in 2004, the show transformed from a fun experiment into a cultural juggernaut. After 161 episodes, Johar is ready to serve the last cup. The decision stems from his desire to pivot back toward full time filmmaking, specifically his upcoming project titled Radha Krishna. This final season is not just a collection of interviews: it is a celebration of a 22 year journey that redefined celebrity PR in India.
Official Release Date and Premiere Details
Mark your calendars for the most anticipated television event of the year. Karan Johar confirmed via social media on 30 September 2026 that the new season is ready for launch. The official release date for Koffee With Karan Season 9 is 14 October 2026.
Unlike previous seasons that often debuted in the summer or late winter, this farewell tour is timed to coincide with the festive spirit of Diwali. Fans can expect weekly episodes that bring together the biggest names in the industry for one last round of unfiltered conversation.
The New Streaming Home: JioHotstar Transition
One of the biggest changes for the final season is where you will watch it. Due to the significant merger between Reliance Industries and Disney Star, the show is moving to a newly integrated platform.
JioHotstar will be the exclusive streaming home for Season 9. If you previously watched the show on Disney+ Hotstar, you will need to ensure your subscription is active on the new combined interface. This transition marks a new era for Indian OTT, and KWK is set to be the flagship entertainment offering for the platform’s debut month.
