Medha Shankar, an Indian actress, made her acting debut in 2019 with the British TV series “Beecham House.” She played the character of Roshanara. Hailing from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, she is also a trained Hindustani classical singer and holds a master’s degree in Fashion Management from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi.
Early Life
Medha Shankar entered the Bollywood industry in 2021 with her role as Arshi in “Shaadisthan,” earning praise for authentically portraying a teenager’s vulnerabilities and frustrations. In the same year, she made her OTT debut with “Dil Bekaraar web series on Disney+ Hotstar,” receiving positive reviews for her portrayal of the youngest sibling, Eshwari.
Career
Medha Shankar got her big break when she was cast opposite Vikrant Massey in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail. In 2022, Medha Shankar gained attention for her role as Minara in “Max, Min and Meowzaki web series” where she depicted a character who chooses an older man over her boyfriend.
“Max, Min and Meowzaki” movie earned critical acclaim at various festivals. However, it was in 2023 that she achieved a breakthrough with her role as Shraddha, a UKPSC officer, opposite Vikrant Massey in “12th Fail.” Despite blocked with big budget massy releases like Animal, Dunki, and Salaar, the movie became a sleeper hit and got love from audience as well as critics.
