Trinity, a political thriller from Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio, premieres on Netflix on Tuesday, 1 December 2026. Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Richard Madden lead the series, which has seven episodes of about an hour each.

What Is Trinity About?
Commander Katherine Decker (Mbatha-Raw) is second-in-command on the nuclear submarine USS Kansas. She forms an unlikely bond with Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Madden).
That bond pulls her into the secrets around a top-secret programme called Trinity. She ends up caught between backing Webb’s plan to prevent World War III and exposing what he is hiding.
The trailer opens with a near-launch of a tactical nuclear weapon at “phantom” contacts that vanish from radar.

Richard Madden and Jed Mercurio, Together Again
Madden starred in Mercurio’s Bodyguard in 2018, winning a Golden Globe for it. Trinity reunites them. Mercurio, also behind Line of Duty, is the creator, writer and showrunner.
